Now, the team has only gone and announced a further 8 all-new and existing titles headed to iOS or Android later this year.

It's certainly a varied lot, running the gamut from story-driven adventure games to tricky puzzlers, with the one connective thread being that they all look really quite promising.

And so let's take a closer look at those upcoming mobile games to see what they're all about.

observatoriodevino.com
Attack on Titan Tactics will be a tower defence game based on the first season of the popular anime Attack on Titan. It will be available on both iOS and Android but it is currently only available to pre-register on Google Play.

If you're unfamiliar with the series the premise is humanity has to live within huge walled cities to protect themselves from giant, naked humanoid creatures known as Titans that see people as a tasty snack. I find them deeply unsettling. From that basic concept, it sounds like the ideal setting for a tower defence game doesn't it?

Based on the trailer there will be traps you can deploy to slow down the Titans as well as Scouts to fight them, many of which you'll recognise from the anime like Levi and main character Eren Jaeger. There will be around 40 available on launch and each of them will have their own abilities so you can expect using them at opportune moments to be where the strategy comes in.

In four to five years, tablets could catch up to the power of home consoles, says Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen, speaking at the 2015 Technology, Internet & Media Conference.

"What gets us the most excited is the computing power, of mobile devices and the speed at which that's growing," said Jorgensen. "What that might mean is that a tablet, three or four years from now, has more power than what a typical console has.

"And that will open up a whole new set of people to console-style games that are much more immersive, much deeper, much more character-driven than simply a static mobile game that you might play for a small burst of time while you're waiting for the bus.

"And so we're looking for ways that we can essentially blend those two models to have a more immersive but movable game experience. Could be in your living room, could be on the bus, or it could be in a friend's house. Much more portable than it is today. And that for us is a huge opportunity."

Tablets certainly are improving at a lightning fast pace. Apple says its iPad Air 2 can deliver 40 per cent faster CPU performance and 2.5 times the graphics performance of the previous year's iPad Air. At this rate, the iPad Air 8 will become sentient and enslave all of humanity. But the iPad Air 7 is gonna play some kick ass games.
GamespotUpdated 3rd August, 12:17 PM: Finally we've been updated as to what's happening with Batman - The Telltale Series, but sadly it's not good news for mobile-gamers.
Despite its on-schedule launch yesterday with console and PC version, Telltale sent out a press release stating that we're now expecting the mobile-compatible version out September 13th.

Sorry folks - it looks like we've got a long while yet to wait.

Telltale Games has just released a new trailer for their newest project, Batman – The Telltale Series. More excitingly so they've also revealed that we can expect to see the first episode later this summer.

Batman – The Telltale Series follows a narrative of both Bruce Wayne (voiced by Troy Baker) and Batman. The game will be set in Gotham but on a parallel timeline, not dipping into any existing ones in the series' history.

Set a few years after taking on the role of Batman, the game will feature much like Telltale's others, using player choices and decisions to affect the rest of the story. Unlike Telltale's other games however we're split between the narrative characters equally, exploring the psyche of both Bruce Wayne and Batman.

The game itself will actually debut at San Diego Comic Con this year with the first in its series, Episode 1: Realm of Shadows, launching digitally from Tuesday August 2nd across all platforms.
