 "The keeper of the lighthouse on Four Winds Point. You'll love that Four Winds light, Anne. It's a revolving one, and it flashes like a magnificent star through the twilights. We can see it from our living room windows and our front door."

  <p>The release of L.A. Noire creeps closer and closer and, boy, are we getting excited about this Switch debut. However, earlier this week Rockstar released the file sizes for both versions of the game and it may require some re-jigging if you're thinking about getting an e-copy.</p><p>&#;

  <p>The latest instalment in KintoGames' 2D action-adventure series, Bit Dungeon III, is available now for iOS after launching on Android earlier this year. So if you're a fan of the series or simply looking for a rogue-lite dungeon crawler to sink some time into, this one might be worth checking out.</p><p>As you'll probably have guessed then, there's a lot of procedural generation going on in Bit Dungeon III with the overworld, dungeons, secrets, items and even NPCs all having a touch of RNG about them. There's also permadeath, so if you do die, you'll only have one chance to retrieve your soul before having to start again.</p><p>The game plays out from a top-down perspective and you'll battle your way through a myriad of dungeons until you reach the powerful bosses at the end. Overcoming these foes will reward players with weapon enchantments or boss weapons that will be invaluable when delving further into the dungeons.</p><p>There will be different types of weapons to make use off throughout your adventure, with each one having a unique power attack. They'll also scale off different stats, which can be increased throughout the game by picking up runes, depending on the type of weapon.</p><p>There's also online play for those who are looking for a rogue-lite game to play with their friends with co-op being available. Alternatively, there's also PVP if you're the type of person who wants to invade other player's game in an attempt to try to ruin their current run.</p>"I've brought my work, Mrs. Blythe, dearie," she remarked, unrolling some dainty material. "I'm in a hurry to get this done, and there isn't any time to lose."

  Their kind acceptance weepingly beseeched,<p>The US courts have decided that Nintendo cannot be sued because it made the 3DS and DS. Sounds silly but it's true.</p><p>It's part of a conflict that Nintendo had with The Quintal Research Group that started back in 2009.</p><p>In 2008, Quintal got a patent on a "computerized information retrieval system."</p><p>This system is described as "having a generally rectangular shape, with a display screen on one side that has a frame with an ergonomic placement of finger controls including a pair of thumb controls on the top of the display with at least one of the finger controls being a cursor or pointer control."</p><p>So, in theory, Quintal can push their patent into the face of any company that makes a device that fits that description. It just so happened that Quintal decided that Nintendo and its range of handheld devices would be a good target.</p><p>As such, in May 2009, Quintal offered to sell Nintendo a license to produce the Game Boy Advance, DS, and 3DS. By July, Nintendo had stopped talking to Quintal and carried on as normal.</p><p>However, in 2013, Quintal tried to bite back by filing a lawsuit against Nintendo. This was a way to cover the apparent costs that Nintendo had afforded Quintal by ignoring its patent.</p><p>This lawsuit was settled recently as the US courts thought that it was a load of old tosh and essentially shut Quintal's efforts down.</p><p>Don't worry, then, Nintendo is in no trouble (as it shouldn't be) and will continue selling its handheld consoles.</p><p>The lawsuit has, however, caused Nintendo to criticise the current patent system.</p><p>It went so far as saying that it supports "patent reform efforts that reduce the unnecessary and inefficient burden cases like this one placed on technology companies in the United States."</p>MCVUK

  Or to turn white and swoon at tragic shows;&#;

  "I had to go over and tell Henry Pollack he was dying. Everybody else was afraid to tell him. They expected he'd take on turrible, for he's been dreadful determined to live, and been making no end of plans for the fall. His wife thought he oughter be told and that I'd be the best one to break it to him that he couldn't get better. Henry and me are old cronies--we sailed in the Gray Gull for years together. Well, I went over and sat down by Henry's bed and I says to him, says I, jest right out plain and simple, for if a thing's got to be told it may as well be told first as last, says I, `Mate, I reckon you've got your sailing orders this time,' I was sorter quaking inside, for it's an awful thing to have to tell a man who hain't any idea he's dying that he is. But lo and behold, Mistress Blythe, Henry looks up at me, with those bright old black eyes of his in his wizened face and says, says he, `Tell me something I don't know, Jim Boyd, if you want to give me information. I've known THAT for a week.' I was too astonished to speak, and Henry, he chuckled. `To see you coming in here,' says he, `with your face as solemn as a tombstone and sitting down there with your hands clasped over your stomach, and passing me out a blue-mouldy old item of news like that! It'd make a cat laugh, Jim Boyd,' says he. `Who told you?' says I, stupid like. `Nobody,' says he. `A week ago Tuesday night I was lying here awake--and I jest knew. I'd suspicioned it before, but then I KNEW. I've been keeping up for the wife's sake. And I'd LIKE to have got that barn built, for Eben'll never get it right. But anyhow, now that you've eased your mind, Jim, put on a smile and tell me something interesting,' Well, there it was. They'd been so scared to tell him and he knew it all the time. Strange how nature looks out for us, ain't it, and lets us know what we should know when the time comes? Did I never tell you the yarn about Henry getting the fish hook in his nose, Mistress Blythe?"

  "It was the book itself he cared for, Leslie--not what might be said of it--and he had it. He had read it all through. That last night must have been one of the greatest happiness for him--with the quick, painless ending he had hoped for in the morning. I am glad for Owen's sake and yours that the book is such a success--but Captain Jim was satisfied--I KNOW."
