"Leslie!" he said, holding out his hand. It was the first time he had ever called her by her name; but the hand Leslie gave him was cold; and she was very quiet all the evening, while Anne and Gilbert and Owen laughed and talked together. Before his call ended she excused herself and went upstairs . Owen's gay spirits flagged and he went away soon after with a downcast air.
heresysoft.com
For some reason I'm super confused about the days this week. Having just figured out that it's Wednesday, I guess that means we better look at what updates have been floating about recently, right?

It's not the biggest list in the world, but we're pretty stoked to jump in and try out the new content, fixes, and features brought to the table this week.

Where to start? That's up to you. I guess the easiest place to start is at the first title, right?

Having mined World War II and many of the historical battles before it, Slitherine is turning its sights on the Vietnam War with its new strategy game.

It's called Vietnam...'65, so there's no mistaking when and where the game is set.

In it, you play as the commander of the US forces as you try to take on the guerrilla tactics of the Vietcong, and the mightier forces of the North Vietnamese Army.

You're waging a counter-insurgency to reclaim the Ia Drang valley, which lies on the border of Cambodia.

But the opposition isn't your only threat, as you also need to manage the support of the war back in the US. You need the hearts and minds of the home crowd to keep up morale.

So, Vietnam...'65 is a game of napalm strikes and minesweeping. But also one that tackles the questions the Vietnam War raised while it raged on back in the '60s.

You'll be able to purchase it for £9.99 / $12.99 on the UK and US App Stores at midnight.

"That is for her to decide," persisted Gilbert stubbornly.Which may her suffering ecstasy assuage,
'Well could he ride, and often men would say,
"It's full of ghosts," said Anne, with a shiver. "That was why I came over--I wanted to clasp a human hand and hear a human voice.

The delightfully named SillyCoin Valley is an investment simulator created by a real investment company called Own. It aims to educate folks on the art of investing through the medium of gaming. It's available now on the App Store and Google Play.

The game was recently shown at Gamescom where the developers say it was received well. This probably isn't surprising given how popular simulators are in Germany, the success of Farming Simulator is a testament to that. Players will create their own business and decide how it's run on a day-to-day basis. As it grows you'll have to employ more staff and expand your product range to earn even more SillyCoins, the game's currency.

As your business grows, new ones will open in the area. You'll have to decide which ones are worth investing in to increase your portfolio's value even further. There will be an endpoint for the game where your final score will be posted on the leaderboard, where a good performance will see players win Own merchandise, so there's an incentive if you've always wanted investment company merch.

Own say they want the game to give people the confidence to try investing for real and further down the line they plan to incorporate elements of their investment platform into the game. They also hope the game will show that investment needn't be as boring as people would often assume.

So it's effectively an advert for Own's investment platform in game form then. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy trying your hand at the trade without any real financial commitment. I'm known to be terrible with money so an opportunity to be bad with money where I don't lose any is a bonus.

SillyCoin Valley is available now the App Store and Google Play. It's a completely free-to-play game, without any in-app purchases at present.
Check out our news section to discover the latest, and greatest, games.
"Oh, it seems to me it will grow harder all the time," said Leslie miserably. "I've nothing to look forward to. Morning will come after morning--and he will not come back--he will never come back. Oh, when I think that I will never see him again I feel as if a great brutal hand had twisted itself among my heartstrings, and was wrenching them. Once, long ago, I dreamed of love--and I thought it must be beautiful--and NOW--its like THIS. When he went away yesterday morning he was so cold and indifferent. He said `Good- bye, Mrs. Moore' in the coldest tone in the world--as if we had not even been friends--as if I meant absolutely nothing to him. I know I don't--I didn't want him to care--but he MIGHT have been a little kinder."For maiden-tongued he was, and thereof free;
"Let you! I'm sure he would be delighted," cried Anne. "I admit that it was what was in my head when I took you down last night. Captain Jim has always been wishing he could get somebody to write his life-book properly for him."O appetite, from judgement stand aloof!
Whose sights till then were levelled on my face;THE WOODCUTTER cut down a Mountain Oak and split it in pieces, making wedges of its own branches for dividing the trunk. The Oak said with a sigh, "I do not care about the blows of the axe aimed at my roots, but I do grieve at being torn in pieces by these wedges made from my own branches."
